Ruth Williams, MD is a glaucoma specialist at Wheaton Eye Clinic and Chief Medical Editor for EyeNet Magazine for the American Academy of Ophthalmology.  She serves on the Board of Directors of the Glaucoma Research Foundation.  Dr. Williams is past president of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.  She is a current member of the American Glaucoma Society, Women in Ophthalmology, the Chicago Glaucoma Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Williams received the Senior Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology.  She lectures nationally and internationally, has appeared on major television networks, and has been interviewed by newspapers and magazines including The Chicago Tribune, The New York Times, Women’s Health, Health, Shape, AARP Magazine, and Good Housekeeping.

Dr. Williams earned her bachelor’s degree and Wheaton College and her medical degree at Rush Medical College.  She completed her glaucoma fellowship training at the University of California San Francisco and at Shaffer Associates.
