Mark Latina, MD

Mark Latina, MD is President of Advanced Glaucoma Specialists and President of Lasercare Cosmetic Centers of Reading, Massachusetts.  He is on the staff and serves as Associate Clinical Professor at New England Medical Center, Tufts University School of Medicine and holds appointments at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, Harvard Medical School, and Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Latina is a world-renowned glaucoma specialist and laser pioneer. His research focuses on laser applications and development, which contributed to his inventing new laser procedures for the treatment of glaucoma.  Dr. Latina holds numerous patents including Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) and Dye-Enhanced Gonioscopic Laser Sclerostomy.

Dr. Latina earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry, graduating Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Tufts University.  He received his medical degree from University of Connecticut Medical School and completed glaucoma fellowship training at Massachusetts Eye and Ear.  Dr. Latina is part of the research staff at the Schepen’s Eye Research Institute at Harvard Medical School and the Wellman Laboratory of Photomedicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital.
