Paul Ajamian, OD serves as the Center Director for Omni Eye Services of Atlanta where he has mentored other doctors who started eye centers modeled after Omni. Dr. Ajamian is a founding member of the Optometric Glaucoma Society, General Chairman of the Education Committee for SECO International, and founding board member and former Chairman of the American Board of Optometry. He served as President of the Georgia Optometric Association and was its Legislative Chairman and PAC Chairman for many years. He was a pioneer in co-management having started the VEF Educational and Diagnostic Center, a first of its kind for co-management.
Dr. Ajamian is author of two textbooks and is the editor of the column “Clinical Quandaries” by Review of Optometry. He lectures internationally and serves as an adjunct faculty member for 14 optometric education institutions.
Dr. Ajamian was chosen as “Optometrist of the South” in 1995 by his peers and voted one of the 10 “Optometrists of the Decade” by Optometric Management magazine in 2000. Dr. Ajamian received the Distinguished Service Award from the American Optometric Association in 2014. In 2015, he was inducted into the National Optometry Hall of Fame.
A graduate of the University of Vermont and the New England College of Optometry, Dr. Ajamian completed fellowship training at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. He is board certified by the American Board of Optometry.
